To assist Association members in playing a more meaningful role in economic and job development, W.A.C.E. will be offering a Business Retention and Expansion (BRE) Boot Camp in Phoenix in October.
“This intensive one-day program is designed to help catalytic chambers develop a retention and expansion platform or refine an existing offering to meet the ever increasing demands of the global economy,” said W.A.C.E. Chair-Elect Todd Sanders, president/CEO of the Greater Phoenix (AZ) Chamber. “A solid business retention and expansion platform is a key element of any economic development strategy and I encourage all chamber leaders to consider attending.”
W.A.C.E. research shows that approximately 90% of business people think it is very important for their local chambers to be a catalyst for business growth.
For decades, attracting new businesses to a community seems to have garnered the bulk of the attention and headlines, but truth be known, most of the new job growth in most communities comes from the expansion of current businesses, which makes a business retention and expansion program a natural for chambers to consider.
Boot Camp Topics
Many of the speakers for the BRE Boot Camp are still being finalized, but the agenda for the day will include:
• Why chambers should have a BRE program;
• Tips on starting a BRE program;
• Challenges to implementing a BRE program;
• Date collection best practices; and
• Successes, failures and lessons learned.
The program, which is being hosted by the Greater Phoenix (AZ) Chamber, will be held at their offices in downtown Phoenix.
Space is limited. Members are urged to sign up SOON. Registration information is available on the Association’s website at www.waceonline.com.
