Oceanside Chamber Partners to Create Holiday Shop Local Scavenger Hunt
The Oceanside (CA) Chamber and MainStreet Oceanside are partnering with Humble Pie Communications to develop a Digital Treasure Hunt during ’Tis the Season to Shop Local, sponsored by City of Oceanside Economic Development Division.
The mobile app launched on Saturday, November 27 during Shop Small Business Saturday. Participants download the GooseChase app, which guides them to local businesses, destinations and events to complete missions by snapping selfies or shooting videos. Each mission completed earns one or more points toward winning local prizes. Each point earned in the app equals one giveaway entry. Grand prizes include an e-bike, staycation and $500 shopping spree.

The program, supported by investment from both the County of San Luis Obispo and First 5 of San Luis Obispo County, was designed to help businesses attract and retain a strong, inclusive workforce through the implementation of policies that do not necessarily require significant financial investment. Family-friendly policies may include, but are not limited to: flexible scheduling, accommodations and support, health spending accounts and child care support.
