Position: President/CEO

Salary: $100,000 + (based on experience) + incentive compensation

Position Summary: The President/CEO will provide high profile leadership, vision, guidance and strategic direction for the programs and personnel of the Burlingame/SFO Chamber of Commerce in accordance with the Chamber By-Laws. This position will lead staff and Board efforts to achieve the mission and goals of the Chamber as approved by the Board of Directors. The President/CEO will be informed on local/state/federal issues. He/she will demonstrate knowledge and expertise on economic development principles, the regional economy, political environment, business/tourism development, marketing and branding concepts, leading to the growth and prosperity of large and small employers in the region. He/she is a highly collaborative leader with the ability to successfully manage current programs while developing new programs and strategic initiatives for the Chamber and form mutually beneficial partnerships with other business and community organizations. While responsible to the entire Board of Directors, the President/CEO will report directly to its Executive Committee.

Position Requirements:

  • Proven financial manager, responsible for developing and implementing annual budget with full profit and loss responsibility.
  • Superior sales skills for membership/sponsorship driven organization.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, highly developed writing and speaking skills.
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing business and political environments.
  • Ability to attract and motivate volunteers.
  • Event planning background – Accountable for success of annual meeting/luncheon, annual weekend festival, bi-weekly Fresh Markets, quarterly member mixers, educational seminars.
  • Technology experience along with ability to work in an environment that uses Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher, Internet Browsers and other necessary programs including Chamber related software.
  • Property Management experience is a plus. Responsible for operations and maintenance of Chamber-owned building.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required
Experience: Organizational Business Management experience required
W.A.C.E. Academy Graduate: Preferred
U.S. Chamber Institute Graduate: Preferred

CALISTOGA (CA) CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

Position: Membership & Events Manager

Salary: $55,000-$65,000

Chamber Membership: 295

Chamber Budget: $700,000

Total Number of Staff: 5

Population of Area Served: 6,000

W.A.C.E. Academy Graduate: Preferred

Description: This position functions to oversee Chamber membership, as well as events for both the Chamber and the Calistoga Visitors Bureau. The ideal candidate must enjoy working in an ever-changing and high-paced environmet. The ideal candidate must be capable of interacting with visitors from all over the world as well as with chamber members and chamber investor members. This position requires strong computer and writing skills, and the ability to prioritize.

Events Manager

  • Create, develop and execute nationally recognized events
  • Manage the administrative tasks related to all events from permitting through on-site staffing including event volunteers.
  • Development and execution of all event-marketing elements (i.e. web advertising, print, posters, fliers, etc.) in conjunction with the PR & Marketing manager
  • Complete each event within the agreed upon budgeting parameters.
  • Perform post event analysis to determine future event improvements and feasibility

Membership Services Manager

  • Grow membership at a rate consistent with the goals and objectives of the Chamber’s budget through outreach and constant contact in order to anticipate and address the needs of current and future membership.
  • Develop strategies and programs through which new members can be recruited.
  • Develop the appropriate materials and collateral for the execution of the above tasks including, but not limited to, solicitation letters and programs for membership and Circle of Investors.
  • Coordinate with Welcome Center Manager for the maintenance of the Chamber website (calistogachamber.com) and all of its content.
  • Coordinate with Welcome Center Manager to distribute weekly eblast to entire membership no later than COB Tuesdays.
