Description:
  • Serve as the department lead for the Marketing & Events department, including supervising (1) FT and (1) PT team member and any department interns.
  • Responsible for meeting the department annual revenue budget. (Approx. $125K in 2021)
  • Lead for the Chamber‘s signature event programs and annual board retreat.
  • Signature events include: Recognition Gala, 40 Under Forty Awards, MIXPO, Regional Economic Forecast, Taste of Conejo, State of the City Agoura Hills & Thousand Oaks and other programs as added.
  • Manage all aspects of event marketing, budget and production.
  • Oversee implementation of and attend monthly networking events.
  • The Breakfast (1st Friday of the month) and The Mixer (3rd Wednesday of the month)
  • Oversee all event marketing, budgets and production.
    • Lead for the Chairman’s Club sponsorship program
    • Account management of all event sponsorships (approx. 50+ companies).
  • Annual renewals for Chairman’s Club sponsors including invoicing and collecting payments.
    • Manage updates to the Chairman’s Club box, event menu and website.
    • Lead for the Chamber Ambassador group
    • Manage group roster, new ambassador applications and meeting agendas.
  • Attend meetings on a bi-monthly and/or monthly basis.
    • Oversee implementation of all marketing communication activities and branding projects.
    • Social media, e-mail marketing and website updates.
  • Lead for creation of the Chamber‘s Annual Report.

Description: The Senior Director of Sales and Marketing for Destination Irvine (DI) leads the destination sales and marketing division of the Greater Irvine Chamber. The Senior Director develops key strategies for positioning the destination as a preferred location for local, national, and international travelers. The Senior Director oversees and leads the directors of corporate and sports sales, as well as all meeting, sport, and leisure marketing strategies.
  • Provide monthly industry reports to the CEO and Hotel Improvement District Advisory Committee.
  • Formulate, execute, and report on key metrics, i.e., website analytics, STR reports, annual tourism economic impact report.
  • Responsible for managing DI fiscal budget, and monthly reporting.
  • Provide senior leadership and sales direction to the DI sales team.
  • Develop and implement a fiscal strategic marketing plan for DI, in coordination with the CEO.
  • Lead all H.I.D monthly meetings, and support Greater Irvine Chamber board of directors meetings with destination information.
  • Ensure responsible management of finances, including preparation of fiscal budget, accurate reporting, and long-range forecast of needs.
  • Provide monthly forecasting of expected results, variances and budget comparisons.
  • Oversee marketing and advertising, including digital, print, and broadcast.
  • Oversee DI’s social media channels, under the leadership of the VP of Marketing & Communications
  • Leads creative development and approves creative materials, under the leadership of the VP of Marketing & Communications
  • Track and analyzes KPIs, analytics and industry/market research.
  • Manage media relationships, PR activities, press releases, and media marketplace events.
Desired Education and Experience:
  • A degree in marketing or communications is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience working in the hotel sales and tourism industry.
