No doubt everybody is busy, busy, busy, but the November 8 deadline for applications for conference scholarships and the Association’s many awards is fast approaching—don’t miss it.
“This is one of those chances when a little time and effort on an application can reap big dividends for YOU and your chamber,” said W.A.C.E. President and CEO Dave Kilby. “Getting a scholarship for registration to our conference or being recognized as one of the best in the West is well worth the effort.”
Foundation Scholarships
The W.A.C.E. Foundation is once again offering a number of scholarships for registration for the Association’s annual conference at the Disneyland Hotel, February 6–8, 2019 in Anaheim, CA.
In a normal year, the odds of getting a scholarship are close to 40%, but, of course, your odds are ZERO if you don’t apply.
Emerging Leaders
Applications also are being accepted for a two-year term on the Association’s Emerging Leaders Council, which consists of chamber chief executives and staff professionals under the age of 40.
The purpose of the council, which serves in an advisory capacity to the W.A.C.E. Board and President, is to identify and recognize future leaders in the chamber industry and assist in their professional development.
Awards
November 8 also is the deadline for the Association’s many awards that will be presented at the annual conference.
Among the awards to consider applying for are:
• Executive of the Year;
• Staff Person of the Year;
• Pettit “Excellence in Leadership” Award;
• Service Awards;
• Outstanding Program Awards; and
• Communications Awards: website, e-newsletter, newsletter and magazines, and videos

Applications for all of the above were mailed to all members along with last month’s Insider newsletter and also are available on the W.A.C.E. website at www.waceonline.com.
All applications must be RECEIVED by November 8.
